Shadow Box Frame & cute graphic

I have been wanting to make some layouts to put in a shadow box frame for a while. I am always a little scared to try something other than layouts. I know this is basically layouts, but I usually work with 12x12 and this is 8 1/2 by 11. The cool thing is that I can put big thick embellishments on the layout and they still fit in the frame. I have several more of these that hang on the wall. I have one that is huge and I am still trying to come up with something for that.

Also, I was going through my collections of graphics and found this and thought you might like it!

Have a great Tuesday and stay warm!

Baby Albums

Thought I would take a break do a little blogging..and share a pretty graphic with you!

Okay so I had this idea to create a baby girl and baby boy album to sell on ebay. My thoughts are that I will create 24 pages, one a welcome home baby page and the remaining pages for each month. Now I am re-thinking the whole idea! WOW, I have spent the last 3 hours just picking out the paper for each month. I think once I get the layouts complete I can use them as a template for the baby boy album.

Why is it that things sound so much easier in your head? I should look at this as a learning experience. This will be the first time I have sat and created a album with matching paper and embellishments. Cross your fingers for me:)

Until next time...

Woody, my hero!

So for the past two weeks or so I have had a scrapbooking block. Terrible is the only to describe it. I get such joy out of coming into my scrapbook room and creating layouts. I would walk in, look around and feel nothing. Well I ordered some products from my favorite on line scrapbook store, Memorable Seasons, they came and as I was putting them away I started feeling better.

I started going through my goodies and found some neat Debbie Mumm paper that I forgot I had. Well that lead me on a Woody (Toy Story) adventure. I knew I had some pictures of Ethan meeting Woody and Buzz. So I just started tearing, cutting and I was off! I wanted to make a banner, so I made a template for one, that was a challenge for me! Took me about 6 times with my ruler to achieve the look I wanted. Next I wanted to learn how to tie these beautiful double bows that I have been seeing everywhere. I googled it and found just what I was looking for. I also wanted to add some real twine to the layout and once I saw this woody embellishment I knew that it would work great. So there you have my woody adventure.

P.S. Go check out Memorable Seasons!

Until next time...

My sweet little friend

So I am still dealing with our wonderful dog passing. Up until now I have not been able to talk about it, it was just to painful. I know it may seem strange to be so attached to an animal, but Pita was an amazing dog. My husband had her for about 2 years before we got married. She was a part of my life for 10 years. When our son started school it was just me and Pita and she became my shadow.

She was diagnosed with Congestive heart failure March 2009 the vet told us that she could live 2-24 months. Dealing with heart failure is not that hard, just lots of medicine. But in November she really started to go down hill in just one weekend. We all woke on Saturday morning November 13th and she was not feeling well. We went on with our day, we watched her and she was getting worse. My husband took her to the animal hospital and they confirmed our fears.. Kidney failure.

You see a vet can't treat both.. one or the other. So when we took her in to her vet Monday morning Nov. 15th we were hopeful that they could give her some wonderful medicine and everything would be fine. Somehow in the back of my mind I knew the time had come. I didn't think I could handle letting her go, but when the vet told us that it was time I knew I had to do what was best for her. She was in pain, she could barely walk, she couldn't pee-pee anymore, so on Monday November 15th at 10:10 Pita went home to the waiting arms of our Heavenly Father. I still feel this great emptiness in my heart not sure if that will ever go away. My husband and son are ready to bring another friend home from the SPCA, but I don't think I am ready. Maybe in time I will be, just not now. This picture is one of the last ones we have of her. Well my husband has some of me saying good-bye to her at the vet, but I can't look at them right now.

If you can, please open your heart to a animal. You will be so happy you did!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I am so excited that the holidays are here, cool weather, fires and lots of baking. I was in my scrapbook room several days ago and I created this Christmas layout. I listed this on ebay, if it doesn't sell then I will keep it for myself. Nothing seems to be selling on ebay right now. I guess everyone is busy with all the holidays.

This layout took several hours to create. It all starts with the paper for me. I found this beautiful holly paper in my stash and off I went. I cut a big circle out with my cricut. Don't know what I would do without my cricut! The brown flowers in the layout are from a flower stem from Michaels. I got this in the clearance section. It had about 30 flowers on it. Great find!

That is about all for now! Have a great day!

Sunday, December 5, 2010

Nice lazy Sunday here. We are just coming off of a great cold snap and another one is on the way! We may make into the 20's! I am so excited. My husband is going on a bike ride today and Ethan and I are going on a bike ride as well. Peter goes on a very intense bike ride (not for mommies and children) Anyway, I have a new layout that I finished last week. I also have two custom orders to finish. Having trouble with one.

So here is the layout that I am listing on ebay this week. This is a picture of my granddaughter when she first started walking. Is was so cute to see her take several steps and then fall and get back up and go again.

That is about all today. I am also including some free vintage graphics for you to use.

Have a great week!

Until next time...

Hi there! I have some not so new layouts to post. I am starting to feel better about Pita's passing, so I thought I would post my layouts. These three layouts where so fun to create because they turned out completely different than what I had planned, I love that! The first layout titled dreamer was created with some yummy papers. The balloon paper is Websters pages, the others are My Minds Eye. The flowers were all hand made. The title and butterflies were glittered by taking a foam brush and glue and brushing evenly over each piece and sprinkling glitter over them. I learned that trick from Martha Stewart. The other two layouts were created with My Minds Eye Bella Bella line. I love these papers! The butterflies on the layout titled That Face I printed them out and used the foam brush/glue/glitter technique. I used Martha Stewart frost glitter. That is about all for now! Thanks for stopping by.

If you have a extra few minutes, please leave me a comment so I know you were here!

Until next time...

Great time

I went out to dinner with some special friends last night. Had a wonderful time. It was just what I needed to get my mind off of everything! I am finally back in my scrapbook room working on some layouts. I have been thinking about creating a 12x12 premade baby album. All you would do is add your pictures. Not sure I want to take on a big project now.

Anyway, I was going through my wonderful vintage clipart and I came across this. Please feel free to use this.

Until next time...

I lost my wonderful sweet little friend on Monday. The sadness is overwhelming. I am trying hard to work through this terrible time. I found this poem and it puts in words what I can't say right now.

Treasured Friend

I lost a treasured friend today

The little dog who used to lay

Her gentle head upon my knee

And shared her silent thoughts with me.

She’ll come no longer to my call

Retrieve no more her favourite ball

A voice far greater than my own

Has called her to his golden throne.

Although my eyes are filled with tears

I thank him for the happy years

He let her spend down here with me

And for her love and loyalty.

When it is time for me to go

And join her there, this much I know

I shall not fear the transient dark

For she will greet me with a bark.

Hump day and a new layout

Hump day is usually when I have to hit Wal-Mart. I don't look forward to hump day:( But I do have a new layout to post that I just finished. I created this for our trip that we took to the mountains in 2008. Ethan took this picture of Peter and I in front of the chapel that we were married in. I hand cut and inked all of the layers for the flowers. There are about 5-6 layers per flower. Took me a while. The vines and frame around the word family I cut with my cricut.

Until next time...

My mom

Finished another layout today. I am not sure if I want to list this on ebay. Spent a long time on this one. I LOVE the way it turned out. This is a picture of my mom when she was about 6 or 7. You can still see the tape that held it in the original book at the top of the picture.

New Family Layout & picture of sweet Hannah

Peter was gone all weekend, so Ethan and I were on our own. We went shopping, went to Michaels and had lunch at Olive Garden. While Ethan was playing with his new toy, I decided to spend some time in my scrap room. I wanted to create a family layout. Those seem to really sell on Ebay. So here is what I came up with. I am listing this tonight along with my berry sweet album and berry sweet layout.

This is what inspired the Berry Sweet phase that I am going through right now. I can't get enough of making girl pages and albums. I spent about two weeks making the album. I am listing this on ebay this weekend. Along with the Berry Sweet page. I used so many elements making this album. On the cover is a chipboard dress form that I painted, added some cream colored tulle, rhinestones and ribbon. Of course lots of sparkle and flowers:)

Happy Saturday!

Our weekend started off really nice. Ethan went to THe Family Marital Arts Center last night for a party. Peter and I stayed home and ate pizza (which I am paying for now) and we watched a really cute movie called New in Town. The coolest part was that the local woman in town are scrappers!!! Today my mom and I are going to Michaels and Joanns. Peter is staying home and deep cleaning the rugs.

I have some new layouts that I have been working on but don't have the pictures yet. So I thought I would post a nice vintage picture. Isn't that picture to die for??

That is all for now!

Vintage Tea Party ~ SOLD

This was my first attempt at tea staining and water distressing. I LOVE using Graphic 45 papers on this layout. I also went to a used book store (could have spent days there) and bought some used childrens books. My son asked me "can we get lost in here" and I said "I would love to get lost in here" Anyway, I found some pages in the book that fit the style of my layout. Tore them out and used the tea staining technique. I think they turned out pretty good. I also used my Cricut to cut out the little tea set.
