Shadow Box Frame & cute graphic

I have been wanting to make some layouts to put in a shadow box frame for a while. I am always a little scared to try something other than layouts. I know this is basically layouts, but I usually work with 12x12 and this is 8 1/2 by 11. The cool thing is that I can put big thick embellishments on the layout and they still fit in the frame. I have several more of these that hang on the wall. I have one that is huge and I am still trying to come up with something for that.

Also, I was going through my collections of graphics and found this and thought you might like it!

Have a great Tuesday and stay warm!

Baby Albums

Thought I would take a break do a little blogging..and share a pretty graphic with you!

Okay so I had this idea to create a baby girl and baby boy album to sell on ebay. My thoughts are that I will create 24 pages, one a welcome home baby page and the remaining pages for each month. Now I am re-thinking the whole idea! WOW, I have spent the last 3 hours just picking out the paper for each month. I think once I get the layouts complete I can use them as a template for the baby boy album.

Why is it that things sound so much easier in your head? I should look at this as a learning experience. This will be the first time I have sat and created a album with matching paper and embellishments. Cross your fingers for me:)

Until next time...

Woody, my hero!

So for the past two weeks or so I have had a scrapbooking block. Terrible is the only to describe it. I get such joy out of coming into my scrapbook room and creating layouts. I would walk in, look around and feel nothing. Well I ordered some products from my favorite on line scrapbook store, Memorable Seasons, they came and as I was putting them away I started feeling better.

I started going through my goodies and found some neat Debbie Mumm paper that I forgot I had. Well that lead me on a Woody (Toy Story) adventure. I knew I had some pictures of Ethan meeting Woody and Buzz. So I just started tearing, cutting and I was off! I wanted to make a banner, so I made a template for one, that was a challenge for me! Took me about 6 times with my ruler to achieve the look I wanted. Next I wanted to learn how to tie these beautiful double bows that I have been seeing everywhere. I googled it and found just what I was looking for. I also wanted to add some real twine to the layout and once I saw this woody embellishment I knew that it would work great. So there you have my woody adventure.

P.S. Go check out Memorable Seasons!

Until next time...

My sweet little friend

So I am still dealing with our wonderful dog passing. Up until now I have not been able to talk about it, it was just to painful. I know it may seem strange to be so attached to an animal, but Pita was an amazing dog. My husband had her for about 2 years before we got married. She was a part of my life for 10 years. When our son started school it was just me and Pita and she became my shadow.

She was diagnosed with Congestive heart failure March 2009 the vet told us that she could live 2-24 months. Dealing with heart failure is not that hard, just lots of medicine. But in November she really started to go down hill in just one weekend. We all woke on Saturday morning November 13th and she was not feeling well. We went on with our day, we watched her and she was getting worse. My husband took her to the animal hospital and they confirmed our fears.. Kidney failure.

You see a vet can't treat both.. one or the other. So when we took her in to her vet Monday morning Nov. 15th we were hopeful that they could give her some wonderful medicine and everything would be fine. Somehow in the back of my mind I knew the time had come. I didn't think I could handle letting her go, but when the vet told us that it was time I knew I had to do what was best for her. She was in pain, she could barely walk, she couldn't pee-pee anymore, so on Monday November 15th at 10:10 Pita went home to the waiting arms of our Heavenly Father. I still feel this great emptiness in my heart not sure if that will ever go away. My husband and son are ready to bring another friend home from the SPCA, but I don't think I am ready. Maybe in time I will be, just not now. This picture is one of the last ones we have of her. Well my husband has some of me saying good-bye to her at the vet, but I can't look at them right now.

If you can, please open your heart to a animal. You will be so happy you did!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I am so excited that the holidays are here, cool weather, fires and lots of baking. I was in my scrapbook room several days ago and I created this Christmas layout. I listed this on ebay, if it doesn't sell then I will keep it for myself. Nothing seems to be selling on ebay right now. I guess everyone is busy with all the holidays.

This layout took several hours to create. It all starts with the paper for me. I found this beautiful holly paper in my stash and off I went. I cut a big circle out with my cricut. Don't know what I would do without my cricut! The brown flowers in the layout are from a flower stem from Michaels. I got this in the clearance section. It had about 30 flowers on it. Great find!

That is about all for now! Have a great day!

Sunday, December 5, 2010

Nice lazy Sunday here. We are just coming off of a great cold snap and another one is on the way! We may make into the 20's! I am so excited. My husband is going on a bike ride today and Ethan and I are going on a bike ride as well. Peter goes on a very intense bike ride (not for mommies and children) Anyway, I have a new layout that I finished last week. I also have two custom orders to finish. Having trouble with one.

So here is the layout that I am listing on ebay this week. This is a picture of my granddaughter when she first started walking. Is was so cute to see her take several steps and then fall and get back up and go again.

That is about all today. I am also including some free vintage graphics for you to use.

Have a great week!

Until next time...
