Pretty Little Studio

Hi friends!

Pretty Little Studio is having their weekly sketch challenge. I visit their blog everyday and see the challenges, but am always a little afraid to play along. So today I sat down and did it! I have some of their papers and embellishments and I started with those.  I fussed over this layout for hours! It finally came together this afternoon and wanted to share with you all.

I used some cheesecloth and burlap that I pulled apart to give it a whimsical :) and outdoor feel. I fussy cut the butterflies from the leftover paper and lined them in black so they would pop.

When you have a moment go check out the challenge and give it a try!

Etsy Layout

Hi friends!

I am back today to share another layout for my Etsy store. This layout was made out of the same K& Company paper pad that I used for the first two. This paper is just beautiful!

For this layout I started with that pretty frame in the left hand corner. I took some brown paint and lightly brushed some on the frame then covered it with Gesso. I then went back and added some Tim Holtz ink to give it a bit more color. I love the way it turned out! Next I took some of that ink and stamp some pretty flourishes around the frame. The flowers in the corner are from Prima. And how cute is that little bird? I found that little guy tucked away in some embellishments that I forgotten about. Poor thing!
I love using old book pages in my layouts. So I used a few to tuck in behind my pretty papers to give the layout some interest.

On another note I found some pretty vintage graphics and I thought I would share them with you!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

New Etsy layout

Hi friends!

I have been busy the last few days creating some new layouts for my store. I have been very bad the last two months, I have totally neglected my store!  Now I am trying to add some new layouts to my store and hope to get started on some albums this week.

So here is the first layout that I created just today.

The first one is a family layout. I really love the design of this page. I have used it several times for my personal layouts. I used K&company papers and my wonderful Martha Stewart punch.

The flowers are various Prima flowers that I had in my stash. There is a sweet little journal tag that pulls out from the side. I also included my favorite picture of me and Hannah:)
That beautiful cameo I picked up on Ebay.  Love Ebay for beautiful little trinkets and treasure's:)

Tomorrow I hope to get in my craft room and start some albums. I have been itching to create a baby album. Been several months since I have done one so I think it is time!

Here is the link to my Etsy store: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheWhimsicalFlower.  Stop by and if you do please drop me a note:)

Thanks for stopping by and check by soon for my other layouts.

New layout for my Etsy store

Hi friends!

I have been working on some new layouts for my Etsy store the last few weeks. While I was cleaning out my scrapbook room I found all sorts of treasures! Things that I forgot that I had. So sad all these beautiful treasures sit just waiting for some love:)

So I pulled out this beautiful paper pad by K&Company.  The name of the line of paper is Bailey and it has a vintage feel to it. So pretty!

Here is a layout that I created a few days ago. I did some heavy water distressing and used my Martha Stewart punch for the border. This little tags in the corner I picked up at Michael's. Oh and the flowers are from Bo Bunny:)

I am almost finished with another layout from this paper pad so check back soon to see it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Prima layout

Hi friends!

Finished another layout for my Etsy store and thought I would share it with you. If you would like to visit my shop here is the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheWhimsicalFlower

The last two layouts I made were for babies so I thought I would continue with that theme.  This layout was made using the same paper and using my Cricut and some butterflies.  I thought this layout could be used for  a boy or girl. I placed a 4x6 picture of my granddaughter on the mat to show how nice it fits. You could also place several small pictures as well. One of my favorite baby embellishment is the sweet little baby charm bracelet at the bottom of the layout. So sweet!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my work!

I also wanted to share some Valentine graphics with you..

See you next time!

Etsy store

Hi friends!

I wanted to share two new layouts that I created for my Etsy store. With the holidays and all I have not created anything in a while. After cleaning and reorganizing my scrap room I sat down and completed two layouts.

As I was cleaning out my room I found some Prima paper mixed in with some other paper, how did that happen:)  So I gathered it all up and went to creating. I have so much that I am going to complete a few more baby layouts for my shop. It is hard to see in my photos, but this paper is just beautiful. I wish I had bought more than one pad when I had the chance!

Pretty picture frame

Hi friends!

Hope your weekend was fun and you got some crafting done!

I am almost done with my scrapbook room. Man, I have a lot of stuff! I did manage to add a lot to the give away pile, it was hard:)

My desk has not been this clean in years..no joke:)  So while it was clean I completed a project that I have wanted to do for months. A little while ago I wanted to re-do my kitchen and I had one of my friends make some curtains for me. They turned out beautiful!  She had some left over material and I knew that I would use it for something. Fast forward to me being at Hobby Lobby and I found this beautiful frame cheap, so I bought it. Not knowing what I was going to do with it, I placed it in my "to do pile", Of course it sat there for months until yesterday. I made myself sit down and create something with it. So this is what I came up with. This will go on top of my fridge.

One project down...1000 more to go:)

Thanks for stopping by!

Some new year pretties for you and maybe a contest:)

Hi friends!

Back today to share some pretties with you. I wanted to share these yesterday, but for some reason I could not load them from my graphics folder. Please enjoy these:)

I have been thinking a lot about all the scrapbooking supplies that I need to purge. I thought about holding a type of contest for a lucky winner to win the scrapbook supplies. Once you become a follower of my blog you can nominate someone who could use the supplies. These supplies would be perfect for someone just starting out or a seasoned scrapbooker. What do you think? Please give me your thoughts and maybe some tips on the best way to go about this.

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Happy 2013!

Hi friends!

I hope your New Year is off to a great start!

My first post of 2013! WOW, I can't believe it is 2013. Life has been crazy for me the last month and now that Christmas is over and school started back I think everything will settle down.

With all the hustle and bustle I have neglected my scrapbook room in a BIG way and it is a mess. So I am not creating until I get it cleaned, organized and every little button, ribbon, and tiny embellishment has a home. I am also going to have to do something that we scrappers never want to do...give goodies away.
I have things that I know I am never going to use. Things I have had for 10 years. The problem is that I want to give them to someone that really can use them. Is that selfish?  So I am not sure what to do with all of it.

Back to cleaning my scrapbook room...I am going to take some before and after pictures of my scrap room and post them here...that will get my butt moving!  I am going to try and start Thursday and it will take a week (I think). When I am done hubby will be so happy that he will shower me with cheesefries and wine for a week:)
